do you think you are better
he asked
when i defended myself

no
i don’t
but somebody needs to cheer for me

i think the cat
desperately wants adventure
in brief moments
which he quickly forgets
when distracted
by a toy
or a bowl of good food

all the little blocks
from far away
i know they are houses
too big for just living
but from far away
they could be one room shacks

Laying awake at night

watching the fireflies dance on the ceiling

having a hard time keeping the faith.

And I think about you.

The real you

and your steadfastness.

I catch a few tears

as they fall from the corners of my eyes.

I don’t know where I’m going

but i’m here now

and i have to beleive there is a reason.
